MPN Advocacy & Education International will host its 10th Annual Women and MPN Conference on Friday, September 27, 2024, in New York City at the Park Hyatt Hotel. The Park Hyatt is located at 153 West 57th Street, New York, NY 10019.

This event allows you to meet top MPN specialists, answer your questions, learn more about myeloproliferative neoplasms, and special issues relating to women with an MPN, and speak with other patients and caregivers.

Dr. Prithviraj Bose, MD Anderson Cancer Center, will share insights with patients and caregivers in India and those of Indian descent in the US who may not understand their diagnosis and treatment options. Your questions will be welcomed throughout the hour.

Please note that we will be focusing this discussion on essential thrombocythemia, polycythemia vera, and myelofibrosis.

There will be a brief 10-minute presentation on various topics of interest followed by 50 minutes of group discussion. This is a time to hear and be heard by others who are having similar experiences.

Each month throughout the summer, Justin Grinnell, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, and Natalie Giocondo, a certified yoga and meditation instructor, will host one hour of exercise training for MPN patients and yoga and mindfulness practices.

Dr. Michele Couri, Couri Center for Gynecology and Integrative Women’s Health, and Dr. Kristen Pettit, University of Michigan, will join us to discuss pertinent issues women with an MPN face such as fertility, pregnancy, menopause, hormone therapy, and more.

Jennifer Dunn, RN, BSN, OCN will join us to discuss the resources available to MPN patients.

Dr. Brandi Reeves, UNC School of Medicine will join us to focus on the goal blood cell counts to prevent blood clot complications in PV and explore the idea that blood cell count normalization doesn’t necessarily mean that there is a response in reduction of JAK2 mutated cells.
